A decade ago today, organizers pitched tents in the heart of the global financial capital with a clear message: we are the 99%.
Brad showed up to that fight to transform our economy into one that works for all of us, supporting organizing at Occupy Wall Street and fighting in the City Council for fair pay and protections for workers.
Brad is running for Comptroller to help build a more equitable economy that uplifts all New Yorkers. Next month, we’re hosting an event with Senator Schumer to help elect Brad, can you RSVP now to join us? [[link removed]]
We’ve had some wins, and some big setbacks since September 17, 2011. But the work to build a more equitable economy couldn’t be more important right now.
Congress is debating an infrastructure and budget package that would strengthen our social safety net, raise taxes on corporations, and invest in climate resilience. Senator Schumer is doing his part now fighting for that package because we, collectively, created the political conditions that demand it of him.
To keep these fights going we need elected leaders like Brad who are willing to take on corporate interests to win a more fair economy. As Comptroller, Brad would have a powerful voice to take on companies that treat their workers poorly and put their own profits over our collective future.
RSVP now to join Brad and Senator Schumer for our October 14th event. [[link removed]] Hopefully by then we’ll be able to celebrate the budget and reconciliation package, and start looking to the work ahead to make sure New Yorkers feel its benefits.
