As you probably have heard by now, the Supreme Court recently took an action that, in effect, gutted the Roe vs. Wade ruling that protects the right of reproductive freedom. The Supreme Court’s ruling in Texas threatens the reproductive rights of people all over this country.
I’m old enough to remember the days before Roe vs. Wade. One thing I have always known for sure--we can’t go back to those dark times. Now is the time to muster all of our might to fight back and do all we can to protect access to safe and legal abortion.
That’s why I urge you to join me in supporting the Lilith Fund, a non-profit organization in Texas that is working to continue to ensure Texans have access to needed reproductive care, including abortion.

We’re lucky in Illinois to have leaders who fought for and passed the Reproductive Health Act just a few years ago, ensuring the right to choose will be protected in our state no matter what. But we can’t rest--because an attack on reproductive freedom anywhere is an attack on it everywhere.
We knew throughout the Trump administration that this day could come. Now that it’s here, we must battle with every tool at disposal to protect our rights.
