Supreme Court Upholds Texas Ban on Abortion
"Texas’ ban on nearly all abortions in the state will remain in effect as the U.S. Supreme Court ruled 5-4... in favor of the state, declining to block the law as abortion advocacy groups had asked the court to do and leaving in place the U.S.’s most significant restrictions on abortion since Roe v. Wade" Read more.
Satanists claim Religious Right to Murder the Unborn in Texas
"The Satanic Temple (TST) is challenging the recently enacted abortion restrictions in Texas, citing religious freedoms. The religion said on its website that it stands “ready to assist” any of its members who want to fight the law. It said it has lobbied the state for an exemption to the law under its own religious freedom law — Texas Religious Freedom Restoration Act."
The church and engaged citizens must continue to advocate for the lives of the unborn in wake of this evil and demonic attack on life. It is a gross perversion to call the murder of innocent human life a "religious" act. CTV will continue to keep you up today on the important issue, but in the mean time, please be vigilant in praying for the life of the unborn. Read more.
Michigan already has one of the oldest and strictest bans on abortion in the nation.
If Roe is overturned, Michigan has an abortion ban on the books that would instantly come into play. This law was voted into effect by the citizens of Michigan and has never been overturned. It was nullified because of Roe v Wade. Read more: Read more.
Amid the Governor's Call to Repeal a 1930's Abortion Ban, Michigan Legislators Remain Steadfast in Standing for Life

Citizen Efforts Aid Election Reform

New Citizen Initiated Election Reform Petition Drive
Election integrity in Michigan is crucial to ensure our next election cycle is secure. Below is an initiative that is worth consideration. This petition signature drive, designed to bypass the Governor’s veto” will:
- Require voters to present a government-issued photo ID when voting
- Prohibit clerks from mailing absentee ballot applications to voters who did not request them
- Stop special interest groups from providing funds to administer elections.
Contact Senators Stabenow and Peters on the misleading "Voting Rights Act"
Earlier this summer, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 4, the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act, 219-212. A vote from the U.S. Senate is expected soon. If passed, H.R. 4 would do the following:
-
Centralize election control under the federal government
-
Transfer Constitutional (Article 1, Section 4) state oversight power to unelected bureaucrats in Washington
-
Increases taxpayer costs by requiring city, county, and state legal petitions to seek federal permission for minor changes to election policy, including moving polling locations
-
Give unelected Department of Justice officials the power to arbitrarily veto local election decisions without any just cause
-
Unconstitutionally expand the federal government’s ability to reject commonsense voting reforms enacted at the state level, such as requiring voter ID
-
Require automatic and same-day voter registration
-
Prohibit certain voter-roll purges, making qualified voter roll lists more susceptible to fraud
Let Senators Stabenow and Peters know what you think.
