Dear Friend,

A few minutes ago, the first votes were cast in Alexandria in our November General Election. From now until November 2nd, you may vote in-person Monday through Friday from 8 AM until 5 PM at 132 N. Royal Street (across the street from City Hall).

Starting next month, weekend voting, as well as other locations will become available.

You may also apply right now online to receive a ballot by mail. That ballot may be returned by mail or using the ballot drop-box located in front of 132 N. Royal Street.

Alexandria's voters will be asked to select our Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, Mayor, City Council, member of the Virginia House of Delegates, Sheriff, Commonwealth's Attorney and School Board. You can review the sample ballots online.

This November, I have the honor of running alongside a dynamic, energetic and forward-thinking Democratic ticket. At the top of the ticket, Terry McAuliffe will again be a great Governor, joined by our next Lieutenant Governor Hala Ayala and our wonderful Attorney General Mark Herring.

We have the opportunity to send our current Vice Mayor, Elizabeth Bennett-Parker to the Virginia House of Delegates to represent the 45th District to join the House Majority Leader, Charniele Herring, who represents the 46th District.

We will be electing a new Sheriff with Sean Casey as the Democratic nominee and re-electing Bryan Porter as our Commonwealth's Attorney.

For the City Council, my colleagues Canek Aguirre, John Chapman and Amy Jackson will be running to return to City Council. They will be joined by Sarah Bagley, Alyia Gaskins and Kirk McPike seeking their first terms on the dais.

I know this team will do great things for the residents of the City that we will be privileged to serve.

I recently received two important endorsements:
