John -- We’re already witnessing a concerted effort to dodge political accountability by conservative map drawers in many of our target states.

Just look at Ohio. Last night, the Republican-controlled redistricting commission voted on party lines to adopt state legislative maps so gerrymandered even the Republican governor called their constitutionality into question.

I agree with Republican Governor Mike DeWine -- there are serious constitutional concerns with these hyper-partisan, unfair maps. These maps not only ignore the spirit of reforms passed by Ohio voters, they’re also drawn so skewed that Republicans would likely win 72% of state Senate seats and 68% of state House seats -- even though their party only won 54% of the statewide vote during the last decade in Ohio.

And they voted to adopt the map in the cover of night, after missing yet another state constitution deadline -- running out the clock in hopes that voters wouldn’t be awake to hold them accountable.

Well today, our team in Ohio will be mobilizing voters to make calls to legislative leaders to demand that the process for drawing the state’s congressional maps is more transparent and that the final map is actually fair. The first deadline is just two weeks away.

If you’re upset about Republican efforts to dodge accountability and install gerrymandered maps, will you make a donation to All On The Line today? [[link removed]]

Ohio isn’t the only place where the GOP is trying to sidestep voters. On multiple occasions, the legislative majority in North Carolina has given only days, or even hours, notice for hearings and public input -- a clear attempt to dodge accountability and limit transparency. And in places like Missouri and Nebraska, map manipulators have flat out opposed more open processes.

We warned you that map manipulators would attempt to obstruct guidelines for fair redistricting processes and that’s exactly what we’re witnessing.

Will you make a donation -- of any amount -- right now to All On The Line? It will help mobilize and engage supporters in states like Ohio and North Carolina as map manipulators attempt to block fair map advocates from making their voices heard. [[link removed]]

Map manipulators think they can achieve a repeat of 2011 if they can complicate the redistricting process and make it nearly impossible for people to participate. We can’t let their obstruction be met with complacency.

Over the next few weeks, we’re going to see maps proposed and even passed in states like Texas -- states that have been impacted by gerrymandering.

We are at a critical junction. Our collective actions during this time can be the difference between voters being able to fairly elect leaders who represent their interests -- or another decade of obstruction by conservatives.

That’s why I’m asking for your support.

I am challenging each and every All On The Line supporter to take action in this fight for fair maps. If you’re in a position to make a donation as your contribution to the effort, here’s a link where the team can track your donation: [[link removed]]

Thank you.
