John,
Yesterday, Rep. Kathleen Rice (NY) joined two other corporate Democrats on the House Energy and Commerce Committee to help Republicans block a provision in the Build Back Better plan that would allow Medicare to negotiate lower drug prices for seniors.
Her actions don’t only endanger this incredibly popular policy, they also threaten to sink the entire reconciliation bill.
An astounding 90% of Americans support allowing Medicare to negotiate lower drug prices, and countless Democratic candidates have been running on this issue for decades — including Kathleen Rice herself.
We need to make sure that corporate Democrats don't succeed in derailing our entire jobs and care agenda. Sign our petition to tell Kathleen Rice: Stand with working people, not Big Pharma.

Democrats have been campaigning on lowering prescription drug prices for decades, because it’s incredibly popular in battleground districts and solid blue districts alike. That includes Kathleen Rice herself, who ran ads in 2020 promising to “take on drug and insurance companies to lower costs,” all while taking campaign contributions from those same companies.1
Since Democrats took control of Congress, Big Pharma has spent millions on political contributions and have effectively bankrolled Congressional inaction on drug affordability. Just look at what they spent in the 2020 cycle alone:
By blocking lower drug prices for seniors, Kathleen Rice is showing us that she is more interested in listening to Big Pharma than the needs of working people. And she’s endangering the entire Democratic agenda in Congress.
No person should ever have to make difficult decisions just to afford life-saving drugs. If you agree, will you sign our petition and send a message to Kathleen Rice that she needs to stand with the people, not corporate donors who profit from our suffering?
