I’m excited to share our first official campaign video which explains how personal my platform is to me.

The water surrounding New York City is rising 1.5 times faster than the global average. Flooding has devastated communities from Puerto Rico to Houston to New York. In 2012 I saw Hurricane Sandy ravage my community. Shorelines completely eroded. Streets flooded. And our neighbors displaced. Congress has dragged its feet long enough. Donald Trump’s administration calls climate change a hoax and refuses to address the harm it is causing our planet. I support the Green New Deal because it recognizes urgency is key. We need to ban single-use plastic by 2030. We need to end subsidies to factory farms and the fossil fuel industry immediately. We need to increase funding to research that will save our planet.

When our campaign started in March it was just three people sitting around a table talking about changing the system. Now we have over 160 volunteers and have received over 700 individual donations. The momentum is growing but it takes money to fight big money! I’m proud to be running a 100% grassroots and people-powered campaign, because PEOPLE are my priority.
