If school board officials are more focused on political games than the health of our children, if they ignore the fact that children struggle with hunger, or if they deny the value of culturally relevant education – then we can’t trust them to advocate for our children.

Too often – in too many communities across the country – school board members are doubling down on bad decisions, promoting conspiracies, and endangering our children. And that's why we need to elect more Emerge women to fight for our children. 

At Emerge, we recruit, train, and empower Democratic women to run for office and win up and down the ballot. Emerge women are part of our communities, and we trust them to put kids and families first – and to make the best decisions to protect their health and well-being at every turn.

But transforming school boards and implementing policies that meet our children’s needs is still an uphill battle. And with right-wing extremists successfully turning health, safety, and basic nutrition into polarizing political issues – this job just keeps getting harder.
