If Tuesday’s recall taught us anything, it’s that we must always be prepared to defend what we’ve achieved together from the party of extremists, who will take any opportunity to seize power and move us backward.

Nobody thought a Trump Republican could contend in a statewide election in California. But when far-right Republicans were galvanized, we nearly lost our state to a science-denying conspiracy theorist.

Luckily, grassroots Democrats like you from all over the state and across the country teamed up to defend Gov. Newsom from the right-wing recall as the polls showed the results being frighteningly close.

Looking ahead, we must be prepared for the next right-wing power grab because they will stop at nothing to hinder our progress. In fact, some California Republicans are already contesting the recall with bogus claims of voter fraud…

Democrats can’t get caught on their back foot again. That’s why today, I’m personally asking you to make a contribution to my campaign so we can prepare for whatever attack Republicans have in store next.
