Dear John,
Are you a young activist working on climate and environmental justice? Do you know someone who is? Our partners over at the Climate Action Campaign (CAC) are launching a microgrant program to support young climate activists who are working on these issues in their communities!
These $5,000 to $10,000 microgrants can be used to help activists, like you, implement project ideas and tie local climate solutions to federal climate policy and initiatives. You’d also get an opportunity to engage with the CAC coalition and broader national environmental movement.
To qualify for a grant, your project must:
- Address issues relevant to today’s growing climate crisis. These issues can include but are not limited to climate resilience; clean air, water, and vehicles; and local climate solutions. While proposals may cover a wide variety of topics, environmental and climate justice MUST be integrated into the goals and purpose of each project.
- Incorporate media and digital engagement strategies, which CAC can assist with.
- Last for four months from the project start date.
If awarded, grantees will participate in three check-ins with the CAC microgrant team: one at the onset of the project to ensure grantees have the information they need and an understanding of their deliverables, one mid-project to provide support and any needed assistance, and one after the project to talk about reporting and lessons learned.
