Are YOU with us? We have just over two weeks to gather the rest of our signatures to get on the ballot. That means a lot of work. We need your participation in this movement, this political revolution, not just here but nationwide. If you can contribute, it will help with fuel costs and paying for fliers and maybe covering some of our filing fee. If you can't afford it, we don't want your money. But if you can afford to contribute a few bucks to invest in a future that works for everyone, we'd really appreciate it. You are the revolution!

The economic system is not a sexy thing to post about, but we all need to understand the lies we're being told and the way questions from the establishment twist reality.

Our economy flows smoothly when people have enough money to spend back into the economy. Bill Clinton used to talk about "growing the economy" but because of job losses overseas and stagnant wages, the opposite happened. Where did the money go?

I think you already know the answer. Sending jobs to Mexico or Indonesia doesn't benefit American workers, it benefits corporate executives and shareholders. Because of this shrinking of the economy, conservatives (from both parties) started cutting taxes on the most wealthy, particularly during the Bush jr administration.

More money into the hands of working class Americans is what makes our economy run, but more money into the hands of the very wealthy just gets hoarded, and in fact helps to create the inflation that conservatives use to prevent useful spending.

Now we have a shrinking economy and rising inflation, so conservatives say they have to make cuts to the programs that help people. That's austerity. But we never call it that when we talk about the United States. Only with other countries like Greece or Ecuador.

These cuts don't fix the problems, of course, and in fact conservatives keep trying to make it worse with more cuts, especially under Obama, and even lower taxes on the wealthy, under Trump.

Now our shrunken economy, with inflation caused by hoarded billions, nay, trillions is desperate for economic input, for fuel to make it run. And most people barely make it through each month. Many of us don't have enough money to fix our own vehicles when they break down, much less go on a vacation to the Grand Canyon or buy a house.

The billionaires refuse to let go of their hoards and continue to legally bribe politicians to fight against legislation that helps people, even in these dire times. "Socialism!" they cry, using the word itself to cause fear. The underlying message is to continue to give money to billionaires so they can increase their hoards or we'll turn into Venezuela- a country with an economy that is suffering, in large part, thanks to US sanctions and now a full embargo.

What we need is for the federal government to put money into the hands of everyday Americans, of working families. When you go out to dinner, that helps the economy. When you buy your child that Lego they wanted, that spends into the economy. It's like a machine, and when too much bunches up in one place, it creates problems. That's what's happening today, and that's what we need more people, especially conservative voters, to understand.
A couple of weeks ago, I went to a City Council meeting in Napa where they were going to look at erecting 32 small cell towers "to fill gaps in coverage". Small cell towers are 5G-ready towers, but the Council was completely misinformed before the people's eyes. About three dozen folks spoke out against these towers, asking only that towers not be erected in residential neighborhoods or near schools. After the Council heard our objections, a representative from Verizon was allowed to give his rebuttal, but his rebuttal was dishonest. And no one was allowed to speak afterward, so the Council went with the Verizon representative's information. It was disappointing, but hardly surprising by a Council that I've seen vote against the will of the people on a number of issues. The meeting ran late and will be continued on November 5, but it is looking very much like the Council will give in to Verizon, which in my opinion acted very much like the Mafia, telling the Council they had no choice, that
they didn't want to have to come after them in court, and that they would be gracious enough to grant one more meeting but that's all.

The Verizon representative told three lies: that the text they sent out informed people of their intention to erect small cell towers (the text asked if people wanted faster internet speeds), that they had canvassed every neighbor around the planned towers and left information when no one was home and that small cell towers are never going to be 5G towers.

I sent the Napa City Council an email to explain some of the dishonesty they'd heard. Here is my email: "The speaker from Verizon told several lies to the Council. First of all, I saw that text that was sent out in Napa. It asked if people wanted faster service and said nothing about 5G or more towers or radiation. It was biased for a yes response. Secondly, several activists who went door to door asking if residents around the planned towers had been notified and none of the people they spoke with had any idea there were towers planned for their neighborhood, so the gentleman lauding his own effort and saying they went door to door and left info if no one was home, was a lie. Third of all, Verizon is advertising all over the place that 5G is coming. Clearly these towers will be switched to 5G and the city and residents will be powerless to do anything. This is what greets me when I sign into my email: (see pic)

Here is an article from the Sonoma Index-Tribune that calls small cell towers what they are:"The stated reason for the multiple small cell transmitters – 5G Close Proximity Microwave Radiation Antennas, or CPMRA – is so Verizon can provide improved wireless voice and data service in town, filling in purported coverage gaps." Here's another article that's very clear: small cells ARE 5G towers. [link removed] ([link removed])

Striking mechanics at Toyota Vallejo have entered their second month of a strike. I stopped by to walk the picket lines in solidarity with them and ran into my good friend Shamus Thornton (pictured). Toyota Vallejo wants all new hires to be non-union so they don't have to provide health care for these employees. The striking workers will retain their care, but they see that this attempt to bust their union will cause division and deprive future employees of something that Toyota Vallejo should be providing. This is all about greed. Toyota Vallejo should be appreciating their employees, not trying to save a few bucks by cutting health care costs or trying to bust their union.
We are being promoted by a couple of national progressive groups. One of these is called Progressive Challengers, which is attached to Cenk Ugyur of The Young Turks. Another is The Progressive Wave. I am honored to have my face up there with Shahid Buttar and Audrey Denney and the other candidates that The Progressive Wave is promoting.

Check out this article on crops being wasted in the Patch. When you have a system based on greed, what you get are businesses that find it more profitable to throw away their product than to give it to those who need it the most.
