When the National Republican Congressional Committee named me as one of their top targets in 2022, I knew we'd have a fight on our hands.
We have a handful of far-right opponents who want to run in IL-03 and are testing the waters right now, but I want you to know the risks here -- if a Republican wins in IL-03, we'll lose our House majority and we can kiss any progress goodbye.
They'd pivot quickly and prioritize things like:
- Undermining all workers' rights and keeping the federal minimum wage a starvation wage at $7.25/hour -- $15,080/year for a full-time worker.
- Restricting the power of unions
- Ignoring the contributions of immigrants and blocking any legislation to help Dreamers, TPS holders, and DACA recipients
- Giving handouts to the ultra-wealthy billionaires and creating loopholes so huge corporations don't have to pay taxes
- Eliminating all protections for people that are LGBTQ+
- Banning abortion at the federal level
I won't back down from fighting for IL-03 every day and twice on Sundays. I don't accept any donations from corporations, Big Pharma, or the fossil fuel industry, so I'm counting on small-dollar donors like you.
