This week marks the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month -- an opportunity for all Americans to reflect on the important role Hispanic and Latino Americans have played throughout history in growing and strengthening American society, the richness of our culture, and the strength of our industries.
Latinos are a vital part of our nation -- in Northern Ohio, the Hispanic community has helped advance and enrich our community in all walks of life.
It’s critical that we invest in Hispanic and Latino communities across the country. Hispanic families continue to be disproportionately affected by the COVID-19 health crisis and bear the brunt of the economic shock to our system caused by the ongoing pandemic.
We are a stronger, more vibrant nation when we create more opportunities for all citizens. That is why Rep. Marcy Kaptur is a strong advocate for Nueva Esperanza Community Credit Union; a banking institution that serves a predominantly Latino clientele in south Toledo -- helping secure additional funds to increase lending and investment options for residents in that community.
From Toledo to Lorain to Cleveland, Rep. Kaptur has worked to deliver results that boost working families of Latino descent.
Our district is recovering and being pushed forward in great part by the hard work of Hispanic and Latino residents and their commitment to ensuring that families in OH-09 are prioritized.
