John,

Earlier this month, the nation’s most restrictive abortion ban since Roe v. Wade passed almost 50 years ago went into effect in Texas.

Republicans have made it clear that they will do anything to undermine Roe v. Wade and attack reproductive rights.

We cannot forget that the Trump-stacked Supreme Court could have stopped this near-total abortion ban, but didn’t take it up — choosing to put politics above lives. That choice has inspired similar bans to get pushed through in states around the country.

Now, Congress must act: will you add your name by midnight to demand federal protections for reproductive rights? [[link removed]]

As a doctor, Ami has always understood the importance of these decisions being between a patient and their doctor — and has fought to maintain this right every day in Congress. The truth is that bans on abortions like this don’t stop abortions, but does make them that much less safe.

Already, states like Florida are trying to push through their own version of this bill, which bans abortions before most people even know they are pregnant and gives private citizens the power to sue the patient, doctor, and anyone who helps them in getting this procedure.

Roe v. Wade has been the law of the land for nearly 50 years. Republicans need to accept that and stop trying to tell others what they can and cannot do with their own bodies when they’re decisions don’t affect them at all.

Join the fight to protect reproductive rights now and forever by adding your name → [[link removed]]

Reproductive rights are human rights, and they must be protected.

Thank you,
