John,
The next strike big strike date is just around the corner. On December 6th, a coalition of young people across America will join in a national #ClimateStrike to take the September strike’s momentum to our elected officials’ doorsteps.
This strike will come just weeks before the first Democratic Primaries. At Sunrise, we know this is our best chance to set the stage for primary season and make it clear that any candidate who wants to win the youth vote must be an outspoken champion of the Green New Deal.
Already 500+ Sunrisers have signed up to organize strikes in their town. Will you join them?
As Primary season approaches, show politicians that if they want to earn our support, they need to champion a Green New Deal. Sign up to organize a strike for December 6th, and we’ll reach out with all the tools and support you need to succeed.
When we striked in September, many politicians shared nice words of encouragement. But we didn’t walk out of school and work to earn their praise. We joined the #ClimateStrike because our lives depend on elected leaders treating this crisis like the emergency it is. We don’t need kind words--we need clear commitments to action.
On December 6th, we’ll show up at the offices of our political leaders and ask them, are you ready to stand with our generation and fight for a Green New Deal?
Make sure your local politicians hear our message. Organize a climate strike where you live.
This strike will come just one week after another global day of action on November 29th, Black Friday, when our allies will be striking around the world and here at home.
By continuing to strike all across the globe, our generation is sending a message that what happened in September wasn’t a one-time thing. We are ready to keep striking for as long as it takes until our leaders commit to the kind of serious action that’s needed to stop this crisis.
Let’s do this.
