Just yesterday, we launched a new campaign in China starring Jackie Chan in partnership with the China Wildlife Conservation Association and Pangolin Crisis Fund. With Jackie’s principle of never taking the role of a villain, we developed a concept around “Don’t Be a Villain to Wildlife,” calling on the public to protect nature, which will not only protect wildlife but ourselves as well. In the run-up to the launch, we released multiple teaser videos that reached 110,000 views over just a few days. The video messages and prints will be placed in over 10 cities for at least one month, targeting areas historically known for wildlife consumption.

In Tanzania, we released our newest round of PSAs with the Simba Sports Club football team promoting lion conservation by telling the viewer what lions mean to them. The message encourages our audiences to step up and protect lions so that future generations can also experience the innumerable benefits they bring to our economy, environment and culture. We also layout three easy things the public can do to protect lions: 1. Talk about lions on social media. 2. Visit a national park to see lions in real life. 3. Learn more about threats to lions at bethepride.com.

Right now, our local partners in Ecuador who protect coastal mangrove forests urgently need your help. They perform their duties with outdated equipment and boats, making it difficult to reach the remote coastal forests. WildAid Marine is raising much-needed funds to purchase new patrol boats for local community rangers who protect the coastal mangrove forests from illegal logging and poaching. Thanks to an extremely generous donor, if we raise $30,000 they will match an additional $30,000 for an additional boat. All funds raised over $60K will be used to support local rangers' most urgent needs, including patrol boats for our other sites.
