I Will Run For Them 2021 Virtual 5K October 23rd & 24th 2021 October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM) and CSVANW is hosting our annual I Will Run for Them virtual 5K Run/Walk & 1K Kid awareness run to honor the resilience, strength and spirit of our Native relatives impacted by domestic violence. We go virtual again this year to support the health of our communities during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The I Will Run for Them virtual 5K starts on Saturday, October 23rd to Sunday, October 24th, 2021. Like last year, participants will have two days (October 23rd & 24th, 2021) to complete a 5K run, jog, walk and/or any form of movement that they are able to and have access to in their home community connecting with the land that cares for them. REGISTRATION ANNOUNCEMENT: We know that times are hard, especially during this time of COVID-19. And we at CSVANW have been organizing and shifting our efforts to the best of our ability to meet community where they’re at. If you reside locally in the Albuquerque area and have limitations for registration fee, PLEASE select the “5K & Kids 1K - In-Person Swag Bag Pickup” category when you’re registering for the I Will Run for Them virtual 5K. CSVANW will hold a one-day Swag Bag Pickup event for our relatives who reside in the Albuquerque area and those who have the means and access to pick up their swag bag. If you choose to select this option, we ask that you are committed to it. The In-Person Swag Bag Pick Up event will take place on: Wednesday, October 20, 2021 | 9AM – 5PM (MDT) | Location: TBD – Albuquerque, New Mexico Register Today! NEW THIS YEAR New this year, we will hold a virtual opening ceremony event on the first day of the I Will Run for Them virtual 5K, Saturday, October 23rd 2021. The virtual opening ceremony will be a space for an open prayer, speakers, announcements, and a group stretching session before you run/walk/jog/move. Also new this year, we will hold a virtual exhibit room for community to discover, learn and connect with local resources and services. MORE & UPDATED INFORMATION WILL BE MADE SOON! REGISTRATION & FEE The registration swag bag will include a CSVANW 2021 I Will Run for Them virtual 5K T-shirt, a sticker and “I dedicate my 5K____” selfie board! Before the COVID-19 pandemic, registration for our annual I Will Run for Them 5K was free however this year there will be a $5 registration fee for each registrant in the state of New Mexico and a $10 registration fee for folks outside the state of New Mexico, along with a small processing fee to help support our shipping costs.
