As I said, it’s important to remember that we did not have a problem with our southern border when Joe Biden took office in January because the policies of the Trump administration controlled the situation. According to Fox News, the DHS reported record numbers of illegal immigrants crossing the border. 208,887 people were apprehended in the month of August alone, representing a 317% increase from last year and a 233% increase from August of 2019 under the Trump administration. Jay and I also discussed the impacts that the Biden Administration’s disaster in Afghanistan is having on our border. With the Southern border being as porous as it is, it is very difficult to determine the number of people from the Middle East and Afghanistan who are trying to cross the border illegally. It’s time to get control of our southern border and vet people to make sure they’re coming to the United States legally and for the right reason: to chase their American dream.
