Patriot,
Today we celebrate Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar and the conclusion of our High Holy Days. On this day each year, Jews fast and pray. We also ask others for forgiveness and reflect carefully on our own behavior and actions.
Depending on how we act during Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, our fate for the year is decided, and, if we have lived well, we are inscribed in the Book of Life.
Yom Kippur is a chance to deepen our relationship with God through the practice of teshuva, or repentance. As it says in Leviticus: "For on this day shall atonement be made for you, to cleanse you; from all your sins shall ye be clean before the Lord."
I encourage politicians in Washington to ask forgiveness from the American people for their many sins against us.
From my family to yours: Have a meaningful fast. G’mar chatima tova.
Respectfully,
Laura Loomer
