California is the latest state to implement a version of a mileage tax, a program that racks and taxes drivers based on their road usage and/or miles traveled. The Left is pushing these programs as a new version of the gas tax since more drivers are using electric, hybrid, and fuel-efficient vehicles. California is not alone in pushing these new taxes — they join other liberal states like Oregon and Illinois.
Conservatives believe in embracing innovation and technology to combat the problems we face, not attempting to tax our way out of them. We will continue to fight against big government and increased tax burdens.
