Happy September, John!

School is back in session! This month we’re coming together to educate and mobilize for abortion access and reproductive justice. Don’t miss our Movement Building Discussion webinar series!

This month we’re also observing the International Day for Safe Abortion on September 28. It is the perfect time to learn about the protocol for self-managed abortion with misoprostol.

Movement Building Discussion Series

Every other Thursday from 3:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. ET
Register in advance here.

Thursday, September 23, 2021 - Centering the Most Marginalized
Thursday, October 7, 2021 - Building Coalitions

There is general agreement that leadership diversity, centering the most marginalized, and coalition building are vital components of movement building, but how to do them well is less clear. Hear from leading activists about how they engage with principles of intersectionality in their justice work. The objective of this movement building discussion series is to share ideas and practices as we all work toward developing more inclusive spaces and policies.

Self-Care

Self-care is an intentional practice that roots us in the present despite the oppression we may face. Regular self-care is essential for sustainable and effective activism.

Here are our self-care tips for September:

  1. Read some fiction books! I have been reading a lot of magical and mysterious books that transport me to another world, which has been needed with how much is going on in the world. The book I am reading right now is Akata Witch by Nnedi Okorafor. -Tenaja, campaign coordinator based in Greensboro, North Carolina
  2. Savor the season! It’s fall, and I’m spending this month revisiting my favorite flavors of the season. From pumpkin spice lattes to spaghetti squash, there’s so much to enjoy about this time of year! -Caitlin, outreach and culture manager based in Alexandria, Virginia

See you next month!

In Solidarity,

Erin, Shireen, Caitlin, Elizabeth, Evonnia, Jessica, Kara, Nataley, Tenaja, and the Reproaction team
