Remembering 9/11 and Reconsidering National Security

Last weekend was the 20th anniversary of the attacks of September 11, and Americans marked the occasion with remembrances and clear-eyed conversations about what came after. In a discussion with foreign policy leaders and experts, the Aspen Strategy Group invited speakers to recount their memories of the day and assess the world-changing decisions that the US made after it. Reflecting on the 9/11 milestone and the recent withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan, panelists discussed potential shifts in national security and diplomatic strategies.

This team of researchers, part of the Institute’s Business & Society Program, hopes their work will lead to healthier companies, happier workers, and a more robust national economy.

Speaking to The Washington Post, Aspen Tech Policy Hub Deputy Director Mai Sistla said, “If you don’t have a diverse industry, there are all these perspectives you’re missing.”
