Friend,
Yesterday, California finally held
a recall election for its governor, which Gavin Newsome won by a wide
margin. But while Californians were still voting - before they even voted, in fact - the leading Republican candidate was
preemptively declaring the election fraudulent.
Larry Elder is just the latest
Republican candidate to decide he’d rather campaign against the
election than for it. He’s following in the footsteps of Donald Trump,
borrowing the rhetoric of Tucker Carlson, and copying the playbook of
aspiring dictators the world over. This isn’t a strategy to win
elections, but a tactic to undermine them, and to sow distrust in the
very core of democracy itself: the vote.
We must stand up for
our elections, Friend!
|
Larry Elder isn’t alone. Trump
himself still crows about his election defeat, and desperate
candidates like Adam Laxalt of Nevada are already claiming fraud in
elections more than a year away. As we get closer to exercising our
inalienable right to vote, the chorus of anti-election Republicans
will no doubt grow louder.
So we must be the voice of liberty
and reason. We must be the solemn defenders of our own right to self
government. We must push back against the purveyors of conspiracy and
lies. Help us send a message to every candidate in America that the
validity of our elections is not up for debate, and if they want to
convince us voting is worthless, we’ll prove just how powerful it can
be.
The fate of the House and Senate is
on the horizon, and the Presidency will be determined in just over 3
years. Time is short, and the work is critical. Be a part of the
revolution of the rationals, and help us beat back the radicals
attacking our elections today.
