[[link removed]]Dear John,
This past summer, we demanded that Congress take action to curb the gun violence epidemic, and they
delivered by introducing the Break the Cycle of Violence Act. The bill is intended to reduce gun violence in our cities and communities
through community intervention and investment strategies that work.
The Break the Cycle of Violence Act is the largest investment in community-based
intervention strategies in our nation’s history.
[[link removed]] It would invest $5 billion in community-driven programs proven to reduce gun
violence; $1.5 billion in youth job and skills training, education, and
apprenticeship programs; and creates an Office of Community Violence
Intervention to help implement these programs.
TAKE ACTION

The bill also takes the necessary steps to address an epidemic of violence that
has devastated our communities. And while the entire nation suffers from gun
violence, Black and Brown youth are even more likely to be victims.
Our generation and our communities deserve to live a life free of the threat of
being gunned down. Urge Congress to pass the Break the Cycle of Violence Act
