Appealing President Biden's Medicaid Ruling

A few weeks ago, Ohio's request for a federal waiver allowing us to attach a
part-time work requirement for able-bodied adults was denied by the Biden
Administration, a move that traps recipients in a never-ending cycle of
dependency and poverty.

As conservative Republicans, we believe that it's our moral responsibility to
offer a helping hand to those who are truly in need. But we also believe that
when it comes to government programs like Medicaid, those benefits should serve
as a bridge to the ultimate goal of self-sufficiency.

Gov. DeWine requested that Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost take necessary
legal action to reverse the Biden Administration’s decision to withdraw Ohio’s
Medicaid work requirements. We will keep you updated as this develops.

Bringing Broadband to Rural Ohio

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Lt. Governor Jon Husted announced that the Ohio
Residential Broadband Expansion Grant program will begin accepting applications
for a new program that will provide $250 million in grants to internet service
providers for the construction of broadband projects that improve high-speed
internet access in unserved and underserved areas of Ohio.

“Connecting our rural and underserved areas with reliable internet service
will help bring these communities up to speed with the rest of the state and
will be a driving force for economic growth," said Gov. DeWine.

“This grant program is designed to help our local private and public sector
partners expand high-speed, affordable internet in areas of Ohio that are
presently underserved,” said Lt. Governor Jon Husted. “To be a part of the
modern economy, education and healthcare systems, you need to have access to
reliable internet, and this effort aims to close the digital divide.”

Protecting Our Protectors

Last week, Gov. DeWine announced that $5 million in grant funding is now
available to help local law enforcement agencies invest in body camera
equipment and pay for associated expenses.

"Body cameras are beneficial for peace officers and the public because they
act as impartial eyes on events as they transpire, but most law enforcement
agencies in Ohio don't have them because they can't afford them," said Governor
DeWine. "One of my top priorities has always been ensuring that our law
enforcement officers have the tools they need to best serve the public, and
this new grant program will help eliminate the cost barriers associated with
body-worn cameras and will contribute to a safer Ohio."

Gov. DeWine has been a strong advocate for supporting Ohio's law enforcement
community while many Democrats have pushed the "defund the police" agenda. We
invested money in recruiting and properly training officers, fought to put
repeat violent offenders in prison, and reminded the those on the political
left that the police protect us and we must support the police.

Help Us Stop the Democrats

The last thing Ohio needs is a Democrat in the governor's office enacting the
D.C. Democrats partisan agenda. They want to expand government dependency,
change Ohio's voting laws, raise taxes and expand the size of government.

It's not what Ohioans want and we have an opportunity to stop it. Please
consider chipping in right now to help
<[link removed]> us hit our quarterly deadline this
month and ensure we re-elect Ohio's Republican leaders!
