Dear John, “I was at one point to where I… wanted to give up and I didn’t care.” This is the place Cherri was in when she found out she was pregnant. She already had children, and just didn’t feel like she could take on another. She was only 27, and it was going to be so much to carry by herself. “My first instinct was to just look for an abortion clinic,” Cherri recalls. As she was searching for an abortion clinic online, Cherri found the number to Human Coalition’s Contact Center. When she called and explained her situation, the call agent connected her to a pregnancy resource center in her community. Cherri decided to go to the center for an in-person appointment. And there, she found something she wasn’t expecting. She found a support system that wasn’t just there to help her through her pregnancy but was ready to walk with her and empower her for long after the crisis had passed.
