More rental assistance money is on the way.
The U.S. Treasury announced today that New Orleans will receive millions in additional funding for emergency rental assistance. We were one of only seven cities and states across the country that met the requirements for additional funding.
The city was eligible for additional funding because it has already successfully distributed $24.7 million in rental assistance.
The Treasury said that the City of New Orleans "has focused a lot of efforts on community awareness through neighborhood engagement events. They also are actively working with the courts to help those facing eviction receive fast tracked emergency rental assistance."
Mayor Cantrell's administration will continue working to help every New Orleanian in need of rental assistance. If you are in need of help, you can apply here.
