New threats to two rivers
[[link removed]]
[[link removed]]Hi John,

[[link removed]]A developer just submitted preliminary permits to dam two of the west’s last
remaining wild rivers – dams that would harm the flowing waters and fragile
desert ecosystems of the Little Colorado River and San Francisco Creek.

I want to make sure supporters like you understand what this means. Fortunately,
these are just permits – not full-blown project proposals – and if these dams
ever do become a real threat, American Rivers will stop them.

Situations like this are why it’s so critical to safeguard our last free-flowing
rivers now: so that they will remain wild forever, unharmed by dams or other
harmful development.

The two permits filed with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission would dam
the Little Colorado River, just miles from the river’s confluence with the
Colorado River in the Grand Canyon, as well as New Mexico’s San Francisco Creek,
which feeds the free-flowing Gila River.

We’re going to stay vigilant about this – and about the many other threats
facing the rivers you love.

the west -- so they can flow wild and free for generations to come.
