Now that Congress is back in D.C., we need to continue pressure so they pass this crucial legislation immediately Indivisibles,
The Senate is now back in session, and major items are looming on their to-do list -- including long-promised work on democracy.
This time, we’ve got something big on our side that we didn’t have before: Rolling Stone reported this weekend that Joe Biden has promised to step into the ring and use his influence to pressure Democrats like Kyrsten Sinema and Joe Manchin on reforming the filibuster -- which simply has to happen to get democracy legislation on the books, no matter how many compromises Republicans demand.
We elected Biden for his strong promises about democracy and more, and the American Jobs and Families Plans showed that he’s willing to go bold with his agenda. These assurances from the White House are exactly what we need to keep the ball moving -- and it’s evidence that pressure and a groundswell of vocal support can turn the tide. Now that Congress is back in D.C., we need to continue that pressure until they remove every obstacle and pass crucial democracy legislation immediately.
Winning on all of our democracy goals is going to take another outpouring of grassroots energy, big enough to show Biden and every senator that the people demand a responsive, representative democracy (and Indivisible groups are taking part in a week of action this week to do just that!). That’s where we come in -- with the expert advice, digital tools, recruitment tactics, and everything else Indivisible activists need to make it happen. And in turn, we rely on you, our supporters, to help us keep those plans running. Can you donate $10 to enable this push on democracy and fund all our progressive plans?

Each new development in the fight to win real democracy reform shows us how important it is to have a powerful movement behind the most crucial demands. Even when it takes longer than we hope, we’re always proud of the commitment and dedication Indivisibles place on our shared priorities. We still have a chance to win here -- with your help. Thank you.
In solidarity, Indivisible Team
