I’ll be blunt, John —

You worked too damn hard to take back the House, Senate and White House. Are you going to let extreme Republicans erase this progress?

Today I want to remind you of some sobering numbers: Republicans only need to flip 5 seats to take back control of the House next year, and thanks to redistricting, they could take back 13 seats in Florida, Texas, North Carolina, and Georgia alone.

Democrats can’t just hold the same seats we have now and expect to keep the majority. We MUST go on the offensive and compete everywhere this cycle. But winning in Republican strongholds is going to take resources, and we’re falling short of where we need to be to fund our critical programs.

Here’s another number for you: 70% of the members of Congress who voted against the certification of Joe Biden’s victory—and spread the same lies that incited the insurrection—come from districts with rural communities. We can’t afford to let these threats to our democracy take back control.
