When We All Vote

John,

As a vital member of our community, we wanted to make sure you were one of the first to know about today’s major voting rights news.
Today, the United States Senate introduced the Freedom to Vote Act -- a revised version of the For the People Act -- to protect Americans’ freedom to vote in each and every single election.
The Freedom to Vote Act will allow for same day voter registration, protect and expand access to voting by mail, restore voting rights to formerly incarcerated people, establish automatic voter registration and prevent partisan gerrymandering.
This is the best chance we have in passing a bill that will safeguard our rights as voters -- and that’s why we have to take action before it’s too late. Call your senators right now and tell them to protect our freedom to vote by passing the Freedom to Vote Act. >> [[link removed]]

Let’s be clear, passing the Freedom to Vote Act is just one step we need to take to ensure every American can make their voices heard in our elections, especially Black, Brown and young voters, and voters with disabilities, who are disproportionately impacted by voter suppression laws.

Passing federal voting rights legislation like this one and also the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act is the single most important thing we can do to protect access to the ballot box. As we’re sending this email, racist and anti-democratic voter suppression laws are impacting voters across the country. John, our right to vote is under attack right now and the foundation of our democracy is at stake.

Remember that your voice and your vote are your power. The introduction of this bill would not have been possible without the incredible support and work of voting rights leaders, organizers, and advocates like you, John.

Together, we’ve already taken more than 14,000 actions in support of federal voting right legislation and with your help, we will keep the pressure on the Senate to ensure the passage of the Freedom to Vote Act and John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act.
