We’re just 10 days away from one of the most important events that builds our relationships, learning, and joy in our alliance: the WFN conference, Women Funded 2021 ([link removed]) .

Because WFN only hosts a conference every other year, we know you look forward to the opportunity to be in cherished community to challenge and champion each other.

Join me on Thursday, September 23rd, starting at 10 a.m. EST (3 p.m. UTC), with your conference mug from your welcome package for Un Cafecito, our opening gathering and grounding time.

Then stay with us as we hit the ground running with conversations featuring feminist icons and thought leaders like:
* Jennifer Klein, Co-Chair of the White House Gender Policy Council,
* Teresa Younger, President & CEO of Ms. Foundation for Women, and
* Connie Wun, Ph.D., Co-Founder of AAPI Women Lead.

#WomenFunded2021 is organized around elements of what it means to apply the feminist factor to funding local, place-based solutions in communities across the globe.

Call for 2022 Directors

The Women’s Funding Network Board of Directors is now accepting nominations. Candidates should be individuals with a strong commitment and reputation for building and sustaining feminist principals that include racial and gender equity and justice for all. Deadline for nominations is Friday, September 24, 2021. Terms begin January 1, 2022. Thank you for considering nominating yourself or leaders you admire.

Please note, that as a global organization we will be providing translation services for candidates whose first language is not English. Let us know if you require this service.

** Women’s Funding Network Announces New Additions to Board
------------------------------------------------------------
Via Philanthropy Women ([link removed]) : The Women’s Funding Network has announced the addition of Leela Bilmes Goldstein, PhD, Kelly Nevins, and Gina Jackson to its Board of Directors. The newly appointed members lead community-based women’s funds with national impact for gender equity and justice advocacy. They will have taken their seats on September 7th, 2021.

The National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy has released: " ([link removed]) Funding The Frontlines: A Roadmap To Supporting Health Equity Through Abortion Access." ([link removed]) Over the next several months, NCRP will be exploring four different aspects of abortion access: Local clinics as essential frontline providers, destigmatizing care for transgender and gender expansive patients, the harmful impact of crisis pregnancy centers and the crucial role of abortion funds.

Earlier this year, President Biden signed the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act to help recover from the coronavirus pandemic. The law provides more than $126 billion for K-12 schools and additional funding for early childhood and higher education. The Wallace Foundation posted a new blog post ([link removed]) , which outlines what state and district leaders need to know and how they could best use the new funds.

New research ([link removed]) from the Center on the Economics of Reproductive Health at the Institute for Women’s Policy Research finds that states such as Arkansas, Florida, Kentucky, Louisiana, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and South Dakota planning to follow Texas’s lead with implementing abortion bans could face steep economic losses if such legislation is enacted.
