RIGHT NOW, the House Energy & Commerce Committee is meeting to review the Build Back Better Act, which fulfills many of President Biden's campaign promises. But three Democratic members of the Committee have announced that they want to side with Republicans to vote down the provision that allows Medicare to negotiate lower drug prices with Big Pharma!

Rep. Kathleen Rice is one of those members, and she needs to hear that Americans want Medicare to be able to negotiate lower drug prices for everyone!

Call 202-225-5516 right now to tell Rep. Kathleen Rice: Support Medicare drug price negotiation!

Here’s what you can say:

Americans pay the world’s highest drug prices, even though Americans fund the development of those same drugs with our tax dollars. Allowing Medicare to negotiate prescription drug prices would provide much-needed relief for millions, including Medicare beneficiaries, and those who receive health insurance from private companies and employers. I urge Rep. Rice to support President Biden’s plan to allow Medicare to negotiate prescription drug prices.

Medical costs already eat up 1/3 of the average Social Security check. Big Pharma greed drives a large portion of that. And the Congressional Budget Office found that letting Medicare directly negotiate prices, rather than paying whatever Pharma tells them, would save $700 billion over the next 10 years! If this vote fails, it will be a huge setback for lowering prescription drug prices. The vote could happen in the next hour, or it could happen in the middle of the night. We need to keep up the pressure the whole time!

A new survey from Data for Progress indicates 90 percent of voters in Rep. Rice’s district support allowing Medicare to negotiate prescription drug prices, Rice is standing with Big Pharma over the people of her district.[1]

CALL 202-225-5516 NOW: Tell Rep. Kathleen Rice to fight for people over Big Pharma greed!

Thanks,

Michael Phelan
