The HCBS funding we've been fighting for is being considered in Congress. And their proposed investment in caregiving is LESS THAN HALF of what we need.

John,

After a full day of debate yesterday, the Energy and Commerce Committee, is still working on the section of the budget reconciliation bill that covers Home and Community Based Care (HCBS). They're expected to get to HCBS in the next few hours.

With such an important vote likely to happen today, we're joining a Day of Action for HCBS. And we're looking for your support.

Will you take a moment to send a message to your member of Congress, asking them to support a full, bold investment in Home and Community-Based Care? You can send your message here.

With care,

Hey all,

A headline from an online news source reads: POLITICS: Democrats Discuss Scaling Back A Key Caregiving Initiative By Half -- Or More. A proposed expansion of services for the elderly and people with disabilities faces major budget pressure. By Jonathan Cohn. 09/08/2021 12:55 AM ET, Updated 19 hours ago

This headline just ran in the Huffington Post. We can't let it come true.

Listen up! The HCBS funding we've been fighting for is being considered in Congress. And their proposed investment in caregiving is LESS THAN HALF of what we need.

We need you to join us today to send a message to your member of Congress, and push them to support a full, bold investment in caregiving and HCBS.

Send your message today.

Through this whole budget negotiation process, we’ve been pushing for an investment of $400 billion over ten years for home care. That number didn’t just come out of nowhere.

$400 billion is what we need to clear wait lists in every state, so that everyone who is eligible for care can access the services they need in a timely manner. It’s what we need to raise care worker wages, so care jobs are good jobs. And it’s what we need to support family caregivers, who do an incredible amount of uncompensated work every day.

We just can’t do everything we need to do with a smaller investment from Congress.

I want to be real with you: our time is running out to change Congress Members' minds on this. We need to act today.

Can we count on you? Please take a minute today to send a message to your members of Congress, urging them to support a full, bold investment in caregiving and HCBS.

Send your message now.

Let’s do this!
