Team, I want to be transparent about how critical your support today is to re-electing Michael. Mitch McConnell and the National Republican fundraising machine are targeting him so they can flip the Senate. We’ll be in a vulnerable position if we fall behind in our fundraising this early in the midterm cycle, so I’m about to ask for your support before tomorrow’s mid-month fundraising deadline.

I know it might seem early to pitch in to Michael’s re-election efforts, but donations made early in the race have a profound impact down the line. Not only do early donations help us plan for long-term strategic investments — they also help us fend off future attacks from the National GOP. 

You see, our campaign reports our quarterly fundraising details to the Federal Election Commission, who will publish it in a public report. That means our opponents can pore over that report to look for weak points in our campaign as they plan future attacks. We’ll send a strong signal that we’re in this fight for the long haul if we stay on track with our fundraising goals, but right now, we’re falling behind.
