Friend,

After years of delay under Mitch McConnell, my Democratic colleagues and I finally have a chance to pass the clean energy policies we need to defeat the climate crisis. With a razor-thin Democratic majority, the $3.5 trillion budget reconciliation package is our absolute best chance to bypass the filibuster and get it done.

You probably already know all of this—but I want to make sure you know what's actually in our plan, so I'm teaming up with Evergreen for a virtual event this week to share one aspect of our climate package that really excites me.

If you care about making sure bold clean energy policies make it into the reconciliation bill, you're going to love Evergreen's next Policy + Pints virtual happy hour. I'll be there, and so will Jason Walsh (BlueGreen Alliance) and Gilbert Campbell (Volt Energy/Volt Energy Utility). Will you join us this Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET / 1 p.m. PT?

I'll be taking the opportunity to talk about clean energy tax credits at tomorrow's virtual event.

The gist? We should be using our tax code to incentivize more clean electricity, more clean transportation, more clean manufacturing, and more clean buildings—not giving tax breaks to the big polluters who caused this crisis.

This summer made it clearer than ever: If we don't bring down emissions and build a clean energy economy, it's going to cost us a lot more than $3.5 trillion—and a lot more lives. I can't accept that.

As a fellow Evergreen supporter, I know you stand with me, Friend. So join me and some very special guests for Evergreen's (virtual) Policy + Pints event. It all starts at 4 p.m. ET / 1 p.m. PT Wednesday. RSVP today!

See you tomorrow,

Senator Ron Wyden
