John — We’ve been emailing you over the past few months about the fate of gray wolves. During the final hours of the Trump Presidency, Donald Trump ended Endangered Species Act protections for gray wolves. This decision opened the door to a hunting season on gray wolves in Wisconsin that far exceeded the kill quota allowed under the hunt. Research later confirmed that since being stripped of federal protections by former President Trump, a third of Wisconsin's total wolf population has been killed.
SEEC members have been fighting to end short-sighted decisions when it comes to the conversation and protection of endangered wildlife. But now, after all of this, the Biden Administration is maintaining the decision under former President Donald Trump to lift protections for gray wolves across most of the U.S.
That’s why we want to know what you think, John: Do you think we should restore Endangered Species Act protections for gray wolves?
