Hi John,
This morning we announced that 300 MPs have called on their pension fund
to drop fossil fuel investments. It’s now clear: Parliament is calling
time on fossil fuels.Â
Following two and a half years of incredible grassroots organising, MPs
from every political party in the UK have backed the Divest Parliament
campaign in their droves.

Sharing this video will help us pressure the Trustees of the MPs Pension
Fund to develop an investment policy that reflects the scale of the
climate emergency. A policy that says no to fossil fuels and yes to clean
energy.Â
Initially backed only by a handful of engaged MPs, divestment has now come
to be accepted as an essential action for MPs to truly show they
understand the root cause of the climate emergency.
Our politics may be in turmoil but our message has broken through to MPs:
we must stop fuelling the fire of climate change by ending investments in
fossil fuel companies. MPs have got the message, now we must keep
organising to ensure that all policies and laws produced by Parliament
will help bring about a fossil free future.
