For many entrepreneurs around the world, building a business is about more than just making money. Success gives the opportunity to help others.

Dear John,

For so many entrepreneurs around the world, building a business is about so much more than just making a lot of money. Your success gives you the opportunity to help others and give back to your community. We saw that in Atlas Network's last featured video with Zubair ([link removed]) , our friend in India who started a computer services company and is now teaching computer skills to women at the WellBeing Foundation. On the other side of the world in Costa Rica, the Atlas Network team had the privilege of meeting the folks at Costa Rica Beer Factory ([link removed]) , a microbrewery that is helping to bring prosperity back to a poor corner of San José. Watch their story to see how, thanks to their success, the whole neighborhood is thriving.

The team at IDEAS ([link removed]) , led by Luis Loria, has done so much to help Costa Rica create opportunities for entrepreneurship to thrive. By making it possible for small businesses to have access to credit and other financial services, IDEAS is promoting...well, better ideas that put success in the hands of business owners, rather than forcing them to fight government regulations that just make it harder for them to flourish.

Jaime and Monica knew that their business could fail, but they were determined to follow their dreams. And as they've succeeded, other businesses have spring up, making Barrio Escalante one of the city's most popular nighttime destinations.

For beer lovers out there, go ahead and lift your frosty mug to IDEAS's success in advancing free markets in Costa Rica. And my thanks to Costa Rica Beer Factory for their outreach and vision. May their passion for philanthropy inspire us all.

Cheers,
Melissa

P.S. If you're inspired to make a donation to Atlas Network in support of our videos or any aspect of Atlas Network's efforts to increase opportunity and prosperity by strengthening a global network of independent civil society organizations that promote individual freedom and remove barriers to human flourishing, please click here ([link removed]) . And thanks so much for your support!
