Friend – The ACLU of Iowa and the Iowa Library Association partner each year for Banned Books Week Trivia, an event dedicated to celebrating intellectual freedom and raising awareness about censorship. This year, you can participate via Zoom from home or attend a "watch party" site near you. We hope you'll join us and the Iowa Library Association for our first-ever hybrid trivia event! In-person attendees will be expected to follow the COVID-19 guidance of their site.
Admission is free. We encourage attendees who are able to donate to the ACLU of Iowa and the Iowa Library Association to support both organizations' work to defend intellectual freedom and stop censorship in our state. Questions will include a wide range of topics, and you don't need to be a censorship expert to join. Attendees can compete in teams (max five members) or as free agents (online only) who will have the opportunity to team up with and meet other free agents. All team members must participate at the same in-person location or all participate via Zoom. All members of a team must register individually. The winning team will receive prizes (and bragging rights). All teams and free agents must be registered by Sunday, September 26. We hope to see you there, and thank you for your support!
