The ALIGN Movement Builders Awards is a special evening of celebrating our movement’s accomplishments in making our communities healthier, safer, and more just. We are in a time of multiple crises that require bold, transformative solutions. ALIGN is building a movement to make those critical changes happen. Join me in celebrating the progress we are making together and supporting ALIGN in building our movement.

I’m honored to be named one of this year’s Movement Builders, alongside Stuart Appelbaum, President of Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union, Dr. Lara Skinner, Director of the Worker Institute’s Labor Leading on Climate Initiative at Cornell ILR, and my partner in championing the NY HERO Act, Assemblymember Karines Reyes.

As a partner in the New York state legislature, I look to ALIGN’s ability to build strong grassroots coalitions that creates the people-power needed to move critical bills into law. Their leadership to win the NY HERO Act is a huge achievement in securing worker health and safety for all New Yorkers, especially frontline essential workers.

I am also proud to fight alongside ALIGN on my 21st Century Antitrust Act, which will rein in corporate power and level the playing field between huge corporations, small businesses and workers.  By bringing together an unprecedented coalition of labor unions, small businesses, and community organizations, ALIGN has been able to make this bill a key priority for the upcoming session.
