Monday Nature Mystery
We are pleased to announce the winner of our Monday Nature Mystery, Ducky Nguyen! Please email us your snail mail address and preference for a hat or tote bag to: [email protected]
Ducky was the first person to correctly identify the vocalization of a Ruby-throated Hummingbird (Archilochus colubris). This dazzling and acrobatic species is the only breeding hummingbird east of the Mississippi River. Right now they are bulking up and doubling their body weight for their journey south to overwintering grounds in Central America. In addition to feeding at sugar water feeders they nectar from many native plants. Learn how to create hummingbird friendly habitat from our Audubon at Home program.
