Tenants’ rights. Workers’ rights.
Immigrants’ rights. This Tuesday, Sept.
14th, a serious threat to
the progress made by Black, Brown, Indigenous and low-income
communities is on the ballot. The gains we’ve made in California over
this past year to secure an eviction moratorium and 100% rent
forgiveness could all be lost if we don’t turn out in huge numbers to
defeat a racist, anti-immigrant, corporate right-wing attack on our
communities.
We must vote NO on the recall by Sept. 14th! This election isn’t just about who will
occupy the governorship after Tuesday. It’s about protecting the
housing and racial justice victories that we fought for, and stopping
those who would take those victories away. The leading candidate -and
those like him- in this race are poised to roll back our victories
like tenant protections, and give corporate landlords free reign to
trample on renters’ rights. He wants to take vital public services
away from our undocumented communities. He denies the truth of climate
change and wants to reward corporate polluters. He wants to eliminate
the minimum wage and keep working families impoverished. And he denies
the outcome of the 2020 November election.
This is why we must vote NO on the recall! If you’re eligible to vote, don’t sit this
one out. Don’t let others make the decision for you.
Vote NO and mail your ballot by Sept.
14, or go to any vote center near
you. If you are eligible
but aren’t registered to vote, you can still register and
vote on Election Day. And
if you aren’t eligible to vote, tell your family and friends who are
to go out and vote for you and your community!
Because when we show up, we win.
And once we defeat this recall we can get back to the work of
expanding our rights and building the California we
deserve.

Este martes 14 de septiembre está en la boleta una grave amenaza al
progreso de las comunidades negras, morenas, indígenas y de bajos
ingresos. Los avances que hemos logrado en California durante el año
pasado para asegurar una moratoria de desalojo y una condonación de la
renta del 100% podrían perderse si no nos presentamos en grandes
cantidades para derrotar un ataque corporativo racista,
anti-inmigrante y de la derecha. en nuestras comunidades.
¡Debemos votar NO a la destitución del gobernador antes del
14 de septiembre! Esta
elección no se trata solo de quién ocupará la gubernatura después del
martes. Se trata de proteger las victorias en materia de vivienda y
justicia racial por las que luchamos, y detener a aquellos que se
llevarían esas victorias. El candidato principal -y aquellos como él-
en esta elección están preparados para hacer retroceder nuestras
victorias como protecciones para inquilinos y dar rienda suelta a los
propietarios corporativos para pisotear los derechos de los
inquilinos. Quiere quitarle los servicios públicos vitales a nuestras
comunidades indocumentadas. Niega la verdad del cambio climático y
quiere recompensar a los contaminadores corporativos. Quiere eliminar
el salario mínimo y mantener empobrecidas a las familias trabajadoras.
Y niega el resultado de las elecciones de noviembre de
2020.
¡Es por eso que debemos votar NO a la
destitución! Si eres elegible
para votar, no te quedes fuera. No permita que otros tomen la decisión
por usted. Vote NO y envíe su boleta por correo antes
del 14 de septiembre,
o vaya a cualquier
centro de votación cerca de usted. Si es elegible pero no está registrado para votar, aún puede registrarse
y votar el día de las
elecciones. Y si no es elegible para votar, ¡dígale a su familia y
amigos que vayan a votar por usted y su comunidad!
Porque cuando llegamos, ganamos. Y
una vez que derrotemos esta destitución, podremos volver al trabajo de
expandir nuestros derechos y construir la California que
merecemos.
