Hey John, it's Jesse, Jamaal's Finance Director.
Since the start of September, our teams have been doubling down on our fundraising efforts to make sure we can end out the month, and more importantly the FEC fundraising quarter, in the strongest financial position possible.
Over the next 17 days, our teams will be working overtime to help propel our grassroots funded movement forward and ensure that Jamaal can continue the crucial work of fighting for us both in and out of Congress.
And to make sure our fundraising stays on track with our campaign growth, we've set a mid-month goal to raise an additional $10,000 in small dollar donations to emails just like this one by midnight ET on Thursday. So, John, here's where I ask: can you chip in $5, $10, or $19.47 (the average contribution to our campaign) to help us reach our mid-month fundraising goal?
John, because Jamaal doesn't accept a single dollar or dime of corporate PAC and lobbyist money, it's up to us and our grassroots movement to show up and show out for our progressive movement.
Does that make our fundraising more challenging at times? I'll be honest with you, John — yes it does. But it's worth the challenge because at the end of the day, we can ensure that Jamaal is in Congress, fighting for us and our community's needs instead of the interests of the mega wealthy donors and PACs who look to control our politics.
By setting ourselves up for fundraising success this week, we'll be able to enter a final end-of-quarter push unlike anything our grassroots movement has ever seen. And more importantly, we'll ensure that Jamaal can stay focused on advocating for the legislation and policies we need.
