Right now, Democrats are working to pass a $3.5 trillion package that will provide long overdue help for working Americans, financed by corporations and Americans who are richer than ever. It’s an agenda that takes dead aim at inequality and builds a fairer America.

Don’t listen to spending hawks who claim it’s too expensive or too radical, and neglect to mention the package is $3.5 trillion over 10 years. For context, we spend more than $700 billion on defense every single year, which adds up to more than $7 trillion over 10 years.

For far too long, our government has ignored the needs of everyday Americans, catering instead to the demands of corporations and the super-rich.
