President Biden's Build Back Better Act is the most significant budget for working people in generations — meaning that the markup process to flesh out precisely what's in the bill will have long-lasting consequences.

My immigration proposal would grant a potential pathway to permanent residence and a more functional green card process for folks already here and contributing to our country.

If implemented, this will create a more robust economy by significantly increasing tax revenue and streamlining the visa and green card process — solving the backups that have become all too common post-COVID-19.

In just one decade, taking action would increase our GDP by $1.5 trillion, create more than 400,000 new jobs, and increase take-home pay for the average American.

I'm also calling for an additional $2.5 billion investment in community violence intervention programs to implement alternative strategies that we already know are effective at reducing community violence.

Economic inequality is a core cause of violence, and community violence intervention programs are designed to address this root cause in ways that incarceration fails.
