For the past few weeks, we’ve taken a necessary break from our planned campaign operations.

First, after Texas passed an anti-abortion law effectively unpending Roe v. Wade, we started a fundraising effort to support abortion funds in the state helping patients access safe care — and together we raised over $300,000.

Then, after disastrous flooding hit New York from Hurricane Ida, our campaign mobilized to help our neighbors recover. In the past week, Alexandria met with impacted families and small businesses to learn about what they needed, we recruited over 500 volunteers to send check-in texts, we fundraised for organizations doing relief work on the ground, and we organized door-to-door canvasses to distribute resources on how to receive disaster grants.

We did this because it’s important to Alexandria that our campaign can meet these moments and provide support in whatever ways we can.

In order to make space for this work, we put fundraising for our campaign on the back burner. So now, we need your help to close the gap on our September fundraising before our mid-month deadline this Wednesday — this would ensure we’re on track to hit our Q3 targets before the FEC’s quarterly deadline at the end of the month.

We’ve done the math, and if we can get four contributions from the 19125 area — we’ll be on track to meet our targets.
