As Republican governors lashed out defiantly last week against President Biden's COVID-19 vaccine mandate — ignoring the fact that their own states have strict vaccine mandates to prevent other diseases — the Republican Senatorial Campaign Committee sent out a fundraising email from Mike Pence calling the Biden-Harris Administration a “contested takeover.” But, oops, the former Vice President actually CERTIFIED the election results and they had to admit later in the day that Pence did not approve the message.

It's all part of the same story: Lies have taken over the GOP. And it starts at the top. Mitch McConnell and Kevin McCarthy are determined to prop up Trump’s Big Lie about the 2020 election, knowing they are fueling the flames that drove the violent mob to attack the Capitol on January 6th.

Republicans will say or do anything to win the majority in 2022 — even if it means lying about the election results and harming our democracy. And their outrageous lies are raising some serious cash to support Mitch McConnell's drive to flip Democratic-held Senate seats, including here in Maryland, in the upcoming midterms.
