Two weeks ago, the fears of so many American women were realized.
Thanks to SB 8 — a law passed in Texas — abortion is now effectively illegal in the state — without even exceptions for rape and incest. We knew this would happen, but so many told us we were overreacting.

Under this new law, Texans cannot receive an abortion after six weeks into their pregnancy, a time when many do not even know they are pregnant. The Supreme Court allowed this law to undermine nearly 50 years of precedent set by Roe v. Wade and jeopardize the bodily autonomy of countless women.
SB 8 also incentivizes anti-choice vigilantes — with no connection to the patient — to act as bounty hunters, offering rewards of at least $10,000 for reporting anyone who helps a woman receive an abortion.
Georgia — and other Republican-controlled states — are next, friend. Republicans have bent their will to destroying reproductive rights for women nationwide.
I will not give up on this fight, and I know you will not either.
