Folks,
I’ve got my black and silver on today which could only mean one thing — the Raiders are back!
It’s not really much of a secret that I’m a Las Vegas Raiders superfan.
Today is the first time ever where fans can attend a regular season game in the Raiders’ new home, Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. And I’m proud to say that folks will be able to safely cheer on their team thanks to the vaccine mandate required for attendance.
I can’t tell you how much I’ve missed taking a moment to relax with my family and enjoy football season. Oh, and the snack selection we have at our house in preparation for each game is a definite plus.
As a side note, I did some thinking and realized that the Raiders and folks across Nevada share a few things in common: an emphasis on community, having each other's backs, and that Las Vegas is going to bring home the Lombardi Trophy!
When I was Chair of the Clark County Commission, we took the Allegiant Stadium project personally and knew that it would come as a huge benefit for Nevada and its residents. Here we are, years later with the stadium fully completed.
I firmly believe that this new development is a bright moment in an otherwise tough two years -- and will help us get through the pandemic by encouraging vaccinations, bringing revenue into our state, creating more than 12,000 new jobs, and building a sense of community.
As we prepare for kickoff tonight, I’m wishing you and your family a special start to the football season.
Oh, and one last thing…
GO RAIDERS!
- Steve
